| Zeiss, which celebrated its 175th anniversary this year, has maintained its close links with innovative science ever since the days of its founder and Ernst Abbe. Currently spending around 13% of its sales on R&D activity, one of the company's key development areas is high-NA optics for the next generation of semiconductor lithography equipment.
