Program Manager

Avo Photonics (www.avophotonics.com) is a dynamic contract engineering services company that designs, develops and manufactures custom opto-electronic products for a large customer base. Members of our staff have the opportunity to design, prototype, and produce next generation products for a diverse range of markets including environmental, medical, military, industrial, aerospace, and communications.

• Ensure the customer’s requirements are captured and the development effort is fully defined. 
• Continuously review the optical, mechanical, and system level design progress and redirect as needed to efficiently derive a product design that meets or exceeds the customer requirements as well as the highest standards for innovation, quality, and manufacturability.
• Prepare and present periodic status updates to customers. 
• Ensure deliverables are on track and update customer on any schedule changes.
• Ensure profitability of each assigned program throughout its life cycle from development through full scale production.
• Prepare cost models and quotes for existing and new clients.
• Identify new development opportunities with existing customers during regular customer meetings and with new customers at trade shows.

• M.Sc. or higher in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or related technical field
• 5 years of Program/Project Management or System Engineering experience in Photonics
• Deep understanding of optical component assembly / packaging processes
• High attention to detail, personable, social harmonizer, integrated planner, able to resolve conflicts, motivated, willing to take initiative
• Outstanding English verbal and written communication skills
• US citizen or permanent resident
